Hello everyone! Welcome to the 165th issue of the RoVerse Development Newsletter, where we keep you updated on the progress we've made over the past week. This week our developers are starting college, preparing for deployment, or out of country, so it's been a rather busy time for us all. We are, however, pleased to release three more ships for your enjoyment in the Dogfight Alpha! First up, is the Dal'Jvikk Series Injector: Next, we have the Dragonfly, another ship from our friends at Calexian Industries: Lastly, we have Retaliator by Solerian Industries: Week 9 Leaderboard Stats This may be the closest set of kill stats we've had thus far in our championship series! With a total of 128, Imaboss2122 is this weeks leader, but... with 127 kills is ManikuCalex. So close! Weapon of choice: Laser Ship of choice: Nearly a 3-way tie between the Sentinel, Excalibur, and Estival Excursion If you'd like to check out the rest of our data, you can find the spreadsheet here: Phase 1 Data (Week 9) Each week we compile a Q&A section here whenever there are any new questions posted on the RoVerse Community group wall or in the Community Discord Server. Be sure to join if you have any questions about RoVerse: ROBLOX Group: https://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2948290 Discord server: https://discord.gg/npxBGwJ Q1: How will updates work? Because all the factions will want to add in there ships will the updates always be at one time so to prevent server shutdowns during a massive space battle? A1: Great question! When RoVerse receives updates that require a shutdown of all running server instances, it will likely be scheduled in advance. This is to ensure that no unexpected shutdown occurs. The last thing we'd want to see is a massive space battle terminated because of an unexpected update so we'll do our best to keep the players in the loop. Q2: Megastructures like orbital rings and arcologies? A2: We have considered the use of megastructures in special galaxy events. Player owned megastructures will be extremely rare if they do come into existence at all. The bottom line here is the impact these structures will have on both performance and overall game-play. We'll take this into consideration as we move forward. Q3: What requirements must be met before a faction is considered the "owner" of a system? A3: To be considered as an "owner" of a system, factions must reach a minimum amount of influence points. Influence points are gained through a number of different ways (permanent structures, economic output, faction activity). Once a faction has met those requirements, they are considered "in the running" for system ownership with any other factions that have a legitimate presence there.
