Hello everyone! Welcome to the 242nd issue of the RoVerse Development Newsletter, where we keep you updated on the progress we've made over the past week. This week, we have another peek at another new map coming soon to the Dogfight, this time a Faction-made map, there are new faction fighters, and we have added a new type of outpost to the Outpost strike gamemode. Azur Incursion takes place at the mouth of a Cysov Superstation that has created a portal to their home galaxy. Dodge and dive between the rocks being pulled into the gaping maw of the structure, while fighting off any other ships in the vicinity. This map will work with most Free-For-All gamemodes, as well as KOTH. !!! ALERT !!! We have received an emergency broadcast from beleaguered civilian craft in the area of the dogfight. It appears that a Pirate Outpost has appeared, and is making their journeys across the stars more difficult. It is time to band together and destroy their defenses, and kick them out of civilized space once more. The Pirate Outpost is less well-armed than the Military Outpost, but their turrets are placed sporadically and chaotically, which makes them more difficult to destroy in one single bombing run. In addition to adding the new Outpost type, we have refined the hitbox detection system when generating Outposts, which should now prevent turrets from clipping inside asteroids and other debris around them in the different maps. Our original system only considered self-intersection when placing modules, but now it can detect anything else that might get in the way. There are two new faction ships in the dogfight this week: The Akatanan MAs3-2V Dai Washi: and a Tenebruzian SSa2-1 TM: The community dogfight continued again this week, with members of the community coming together to blast each other out of the sky. Here are a selection of screenshots from the event - send in your own if you have them. Join us next week at 9am and 8pm EST and earn double credits for the duration. This week in the dogfight there were 619 kills, 80 with auto, 16 with beam, 72 with laser, 13 with plasma, 21 with railgun, and 417 with torpedo. The most dangerous ship was the Silencer with 173 kills, followed by the VSa1-2_Spirit_Kazan with 145. The most dangerous map was Blue_Spaceway with 473 deaths, followed by Pillarum with 115. And now, the moment you've been waiting for... The three players that topped the leaderboard were FangABXY, with 297 kills and 15 deaths and a 19.8 KDR; PreadaterX51 with 128 kills, 27 deaths and a 4.74 KDR; and devOmegax with 63 kills, 15 deaths, and a 4.2 KDR. They have unlocked the exclusive ship Nihilos Tephra in the Alpha Dogfight. Nice work pilots! If you'd like to check out the rest of our data, you can find the spreadsheet here: Phase 1 Data (Week 86) Calexian Community Challenge Before the end of cycle 12, the community must strive to complete the following two challenges to unlock a Calexian ship for all to use. Both KOTH points and Outpost clears are progressing along nicely, we're ahead of schedule on both fronts, but now is no time to let up. The challenges are: 5000 KOTH capture points, and 50 Perfect rounds of Outpost Strike. Each week we compile a Q&A section here whenever there are any new questions posted on the RoVerse Community group wall or in the Community Discord Server. Be sure to join if you have any questions about RoVerse: ROBLOX Group: https://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2948290 Discord server: https://discord.gg/npxBGwJ Q1: Can you mount smaller turrets on mounts designed for larger ones? A1: Turret sizes are location independent. Any size turret can be put on any mount, as long as the total adds up to less than the total ship armament capacity. When it comes to turret type variants, like fixed vs gimbal turrets, those will be specific per-mount.
