RoVerse Development Newsletter #243

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 243rd issue of the RoVerse Development Newsletter, where we keep you updated on the progress we've made over the past week.

This week, 4 factions have submitted the first faction stalls to be added to Hyperion, and Idyllic has been working on a secret project, and tweaking the target lock system to display allies all the time.

First up, the 4 faction stalls. Here we have the first version of the Cysov Stall, that is already undergoing renovation based on what worked and what didn't work with the first version.

The Onyx Hold stall, which will likely be getting a visit from station Health and Safety for working with molten metal in a public space.

The Osiris Corp Stall, with a unique round shape.

And the House of Akatana Stall, with gift shop.

These stalls will be opening shortly in a new segment of the Hyperion Station ring, as soon as construction is finished and the sector is re-pressurized.

The community dogfight continued again this week, with members of the community coming together to blast each other out of the sky. Here are a selection of screenshots from the event - send in your own if you have them. Join us next week at 9am and 8pm EST and earn double credits for the duration.

This week in the dogfight there were 707 kills, 24 with auto, 0 with beam, 13 with laser, 0 with plasma, 3 with railgun, and 667 with torpedo. The most dangerous ship was the MAs3-2V_Dai_Washi with 357 kills, followed by the VSa1-1_Kazan with 239. The most dangerous map was The_Great_Hollow with 369 deaths, followed by Blue_Spaceway with 305.

And now, the moment you've been waiting for...
​The three players that topped the leaderboard were FangABXY, with 656 kills and 23 deaths and a 28.52 KDR; PreadaterX51 with 36 kills, 15 deaths and a 2.4 KDR; and ManikuCalex with 7 kills, 6 deaths, and a 1.16 KDR. They have unlocked the exclusive ship Nihilos Tephra in the Alpha Dogfight. Nice work pilots!

Calexian Community Challenge

Before the end of cycle 12, the community must strive to complete the following two challenges to unlock a Calexian ship for all to use. We fell a little behind on KOTH points, but we're going strong on Outpost clears.

​The challenges are: 5000 KOTH capture points, and 50 Perfect rounds of Outpost Strike.

Q1: Will peoples personal group ranks be displayed in game?

A1: We can probably do that. We should be able to list the names of player ranks on a playerlist somewhere, while on radar and on screen we could put a little rank icon. Members of the same group should be able to recognize the ranks of their commanders, and perceptive enemies might be able to direct their fire.
