Hello everyone! Welcome to the 401st issue of the RoVerse Development Newsletter, where we can keep you updated on the progress we've made over the past week. This week, Idyylic has been hard at work coding some very important features and working on making Capitals become something that works. Lets get started! Idyllic has been working on a feature for quite some time, but we didn't want to announce it yet. This feature has been higly requested, and is one of the most popular features that have been requested in our Community Discord. It took a long time to get it to work, and now that it is complete, we're happy to say that it will be coming soon to the Dogfight. With that announcement out of the way, its time to get on to the fun stuff. It's been a long 8 years working on this project, so we'd like to take the time to look back at some of our best work. The community dogfight continued again this week, with members of the community coming together to blast each other out of the sky. Here are a selection of screenshots from the event - send in your own if you have them. Join us next week at 9am and 8pm EST and earn double credits for the duration. This week in the dogfight there were 13 kills, 0 with auto, 3 with beam, 1 with laser, 0 with plasma, 8 with railgun, and 2 with torpedo. The most dangerous ship was the Pulsar with 6 kills, followed by the Blue Komodo with 8. The most dangerous map was Blue_Spaceway with 4 deaths, followed by Pillarum with 1. And now, the moment you've been waiting for... The three players that topped the leaderboard were IdyllicDestroyer, with 2 kills and 33 deaths and a 1.8 KDR; IdyllicDestroyer with 79 kills, 12 deaths and a 6.58 KDR; and IdyllicDestroyer with 27 kills, 51 deaths, and a 0.52 KDR. They have unlocked the exclusive ship Nihilos Excalibur in the Alpha Dogfight. Nice work pilots! If you'd like to check out the rest of our data, you can find the spreadsheet here: Phase 1 Data (Week 89.5) Calexian Community Challenge Before the end of cycle 12, the community must strive to complete the following two challenges to unlock a Calexian ship for all to use. KOTH points are going well, but we've fallen behind on Outpost clears. We better get cracking on that pirate invasion if we want to complete the challenge. The challenges are: 5000 KOTH capture points, and 50 Perfect rounds of Outpost Strike. Each week we compile a Q&A section here whenever there are any new questions posted on the RoVerse Community group wall or in the Community Discord Server. Be sure to join if you have any questions about RoVerse: ROBLOX Group: https://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2948290 Discord server: https://discord.gg/npxBGwJ Q1: Will ramming our ships into other ships be an effective method of combat? A1: Of course1 Ramming a hunk of metal into another hunk of metal is one of the most satisfying combat experiences possible. Why worry about weapons with range or skill-based actions, when you can saunter on over to someone and immediately cause them to explode? Q2: When will this game release? A2: We've been working on it for quite some time now, and it will neither release tomorrow, nor never. Time is a meaningless construct manufactured by the government to get you to pay taxes, so nothing will ever continue to not happen for an indeterminate duration. There is no possible way to know what the future will bring, as we've been spiraling into an abyss every "year" with no hope of escape. Q3: Why would the government invent time? A3: It all started in 1937 in a small town in Nicaragua, when a man named Creigh caused a small conflict that escalated into the accidental killing of God by way of a particularly intense Leonid meteor shower. With him out of the way, the time-masters were free to create an unending temporal loop designed to extract tax money at a rate far greater than would be possible in normal, undisturbed spacetime. Q4: If God is dead, what purpose do ethics serve? A4: Ethics was never couched in religiosity except as a justification method. The purpose of ethics has never been called into question, but rather, questioned was the ethos of those tenets modified by religious tradition, used historically to enforce doctrine or to banish "undesirable" practices. We do not require religiosity to avoid murdering or stealing from each other; reciprocal interest is what ultimately spawns an ethic, and it is the more abstract ethics less substantively couched that die with God. Q4: Why go on in an unfeeling, dead universe? A4: You can support us by joining our Community Group or Discord server! So far, the community has been absolutely amazing, supportive, and very friendly. We are very appreciative of all the support you guys show us!
